Daltonganj, Dec. 28: Palamu SP Reeshma Ramesan has issued an advisory for the New Year revellers.
The advisory is for the safety of the revellers and the other pedestrians. It is to curb and contain road accidents.
Although the advisory has no warning for ‘stunt on the road by the bikers in sheer rapture to welcome the New Year, the text of the advisory is enough to drive a point home that there must not be any aberration on the roads.
No bike stunts
Bike stunts are very common here near the Beesfutta Bridge, and here, life on the road gets lost more.
It is clearly against ‘drug and drunk’ driving. The SP has admonished the New Year’s revellers not to be in any of the two situations that are under the influence of drugs and drinks.

Helmets for bike riders
The advisory asks for helmets for bike riders, seat belts for car occupants, and adherence to safe speed.
Triple riding is strictly forbidden. Bikers have been advised to have all essential papers for the vehicles to be with them.
Police vigil is going to be up at the picnic spots. The nearest policeman should be contacted if there is any inconvenience or problem.
As Palamu has long porous borders with Bihar, where there is a ban on booze and liquor, Palamu’s bordering areas like Harihurganj, Saraideeh, Chak, etc, see Bihar’s men coming over to Palamu’s land for mugs of illicit wine.
It has been seen that on December 30 and 31, hectic efforts were made by bootleggers to smuggle illicit liquor from Palamu to Bihar.
Illicit liquor is smuggled to Bihar at the year’s end in various ways, like its bottles being hidden in straw bags or in fruit containers, etc.
