Ramgarh, August 16: The Jharkhand BJP has decided to extend moral support to the ongoing peaceful protest by students demanding a CBI inquiry into recruitment examinations conducted in the state over the past seven years.

The decision was taken at the BJP’s monthly meeting of state office-bearers and presidents of various party Morchas, held at the party’s district office in Ramgarh. The meeting was chaired by state BJP president Aditya Sahu and attended by Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi and state organisation general secretary Karmveer Singh, among other senior leaders.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Aditya Sahu alleged that the Hemant Soren government was committing “injustice and atrocities” against students and young people.

He said students had been protesting peacefully for the past 21 days, with their principal demand being a CBI investigation into all recruitment examinations conducted during the last seven years.

“The state government should immediately recommend a CBI probe into all recruitment examinations,” Sahu said.

He accused the state government of failing to address the concerns of protesting students, claiming that many had continued their agitation despite difficult conditions, including the monsoon.

“The agitation is no longer confined to Jharkhand; it has become an issue of national concern,” Sahu said.

He also referred to recent demonstrations in Delhi, where NDA MPs raised the students’ concerns and marched in support of their demands.

BJP Reviews Party Programmes

Sahu said the Ramgarh meeting was part of the BJP’s regular monthly organisational exercise, during which ongoing programmes are reviewed, and future activities are planned.

He said the BJP was a cadre-based party and that the contributions of its workers remained central to its organisational functioning.

The next meeting of the BJP’s state office-bearers will be held in Dumka.

Leaders Join ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Plantation Drive

Before the meeting, BJP leaders and office-bearers participated in a tree plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative at the party’s district office premises.

Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi and state organisation general secretary Karmveer Singh were among those who took part in the plantation programme.

The meeting was attended by several senior BJP leaders, state office-bearers and presidents of the party’s various Morchas.
