New Delhi, September 29: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has appointed Anurag Kumar, Advocate, Supreme Court of India, as its Panel Counsel for defending cases before the Supreme Court of India, Jharkhand High Court and the CAT Bench at Ranchi.
According to a UPSC order dated September 28, the appointment will remain effective for one year, up to September 30, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The appointment has been made in accordance with the terms and conditions communicated by the Commission in its letter dated June 17, 2026, and accepted by Kumar.
Anurag Kumar is an Advocate, Supreme Court of India, and has also served as Adviser to the former Chief Justice of India and Assistant Solicitor General of India.
The order was issued by Ishwar Dutt Kashyap, Under Secretary (NLS), UPSC, and circulated to the concerned authorities, including the Department of Legal Affairs and UPSC officials.
