Jamshedpur, October 3: Several passengers were injured after a private bus travelling from Kolkata to Ranchi overturned on NH-33 near Jhabri village under Chowka police station in adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district early Saturday morning.
The accident occurred around 4 am when the bus, identified as Shivam, reportedly went out of control and overturned on the roadside. The bus was carrying around 25 to 30 passengers at the time.

Passengers Rescued From Overturned Bus
Most of the passengers were asleep when the accident occurred, triggering panic and chaos inside the bus.
Hearing the sound of the crash, local villagers rushed to the spot and joined the rescue operation. Police teams also reached the site soon after receiving information and, with the help of residents, evacuated passengers trapped inside the overturned vehicle.
Chowka police station officer-in-charge Sanjeev Kumar Singh confirmed that three passengers sustained serious injuries, while several others suffered minor injuries.
The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for first aid and further medical treatment.
Traffic Restored, Probe Underway
The accident briefly disrupted traffic on the busy highway. Police subsequently removed the damaged bus from the road and restored normal vehicular movement.
Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
