CIL Ranchi Marathon: Registration begins for Jharkhand’s highest prize money mega event

Dhanbad, Dec. 30: Registration has begun for Coal India Limited (CIL) Ranchi Open Marathon mega event 2024.

The organizer said the mega event would be held on February 11, 2024 at Morhabadi Ranchi. It is Jharkhand’s highest prize money mega event, affiliated with the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).

“CIL Marathon is an annual event organized by Central Coalfield Limited (CCL) Ranchi on behalf of Coal India Limited to promote health, fitness and community engagement,” said a senior official of CCL.

The event will be organized into three categories: full marathon, half marathon, and 10 km race. The organizer said the top 7 participants in all three categories would be awarded a cash prize.

The winner will get Rs 3 lakh cash prize.

The full marathon winner would get the highest cash prize of Rs 3 lakh. The runners of  2nd and third position holders would get Rs 2 and Rs 1 lakh respectively. 4th to 7th position holder would get Rs 60,000, Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.

The winner of the Half Marathon will be given a cash Prize of Rs 2 lakh. 2nd and 3rd position holders would get cash awards of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000, respectively. Besides, runners in the 4th to 7th position would get cash prizes of Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000 , Rs 20,000, and Rs 10,000, respectively.

The organizer said the winner of the 10 Km race would get the first prize of Rs 1 lakh while the 2nd and 3rd position holders would be given cash prizes of Rs 70,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively. The 4th to 7th position runners would get cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
