Ramgarh, Jan 2: Tata Steel Foundation, West Bokaro, has launched a mission to improve schools’ infrastructure and sanitation facilities across the operational areas to create a safer and more hygienic student environment.
The foundation’s efforts are focused on addressing water and sanitation issues in the region, with projects underway to upgrade infrastructure at several schools in the surrounding areas. The estimated cost of these projects in the current financial year is approximately Rs 1 crore.
Under this initiative, Tata Steel Foundation has constructed a new toilet block for the students of Government Middle School located near Mandu Community Health Center in Ramgarh district.
This new facility is ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for the students. The toilet block has been constructed for Rs 8.10 lakh, which includes 24-hour water supply and storage facilities.

This project has benefited 240 female students and 210 male students of the school. Apart from improving the infrastructure, Tata Steel Foundation has also conducted awareness sessions with students to emphasize the importance of cleanliness in daily life.
