Jamshedpur, Jan 10: In a breakthrough in the Mango twin murder case, the police succeeded in arresting two accused by raiding a place under the Mosabani Thana area in the Ghatsila sub-division of the district on Tuesday night.
Identified as Raju Tanti alias Bhuban Tanti and Shatrughna Hansda, the two were among the six others arrested by the police during an abortive bid of robbery by these criminals.
While arresting the six, the police recovered a loaded country-made pistol and choppers from their possession.
Apart from the weapons, one ton of copper wire and a mini-truck have also been seized during the arrests.
Tip-off led to raid by police
Revealing about the breakthrough, senior SP, Kishore Kaushal said that they got a tip-off that a gang of six criminals was about to commit some crime near the DVC power installation along the Subernarekha river in Mosabani.

“On getting the information, we set up a team headed by DSP (Mosabani) immediately and got the place in question raided. The team succeeded in apprehending all the six criminals who had planned to commit robbery at the DVC installation from where they had already stolen over a ton of copper wire on previous night, ” said Kishore Kaushal while talking to the media.
Two confess committing Mango murders
The senior SP said during interrogation later on, they came to know that two of the six arrested persons were wanted by the Mango police in connection with the murder of Mohammed Shahzad and police constable Ramdev Mahto.
The senior police officer said that the duo confessed to being involved in the murder of Shahzad and also the police constable Ramdev Mahto.
It may be mentioned here that Mohammed Shahzad and the police constable were shot dead by bike-borne criminals at Jawahar Nagar under the Mango Thana area on December 8 morning.
