Dhanbad, January 13:  Noted Supreme Court lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay advocated for implementing ‘One- Nation- One education system- One syllabus’ for Vikasit Bharat and a speedy judicial system in India.

While addressing students of IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad at Golden-Jubilee lecture theatre of the institute over Viksit Bharat @2047, advocate Upadhayay said that corruption is the root cause of all problems in achieving the goal.

Coaching business

“Education mafia and those involved in the coaching business, which is worth Rs 5 lakh crore, deliberately do not want One- Nation- One education system- One syllabus to be implemented as it will affect their business,” said Ashwini Upadhyay.

Japanese pattern

He advised the technocrats to analyse the core of any problem and follow the Japanese pattern where they explore the reasons for any situation and solve them. He also held the population explosion as a reason for many issues affecting the nation.

Right to Information

After obtaining a degree in electrical engineering, Upadhyay worked in many industries. He got a law degree in 2002 and started working on the Right to Information and decentralisation of governance. He also joined Anna Hazare’s movement against corruption in 2011.

Speedy judicial system

Upadhya filed over 150 PILs, including the PIL, seeking expeditious criminal cases against politicians, the ban of freebies and the Places of Worship Act.

While addressing IIT ISM students, he also advocated for implementing a speedy judicial system and justice within a year.

Prof Rajni Singh, dean of corporate communications of IIT ISM, introduced the guest to the audience, and Prof MK Singh, dean of academics and director, presided over the lecture programme.
