Campus News: DPS Ranchi students showcase out-of-box ideas, fruits of learning at Model Expo

Ranchi, January 13: To celebrate creativity, innovation and academic prowess, Delhi Public School Ranchi hosted the Project Model Expo- ‘Innovate, Elevate and Dominate’ today.
Out-of-the-box thinking

The event was a platform for students to showcase their exceptional talents, out-of-the-box thinking, and the fruits of their learning experiences. The exhibition brought together an array of exhibits covering various vital subjects, reflecting the diverse talents of the participating students.

The main objective of Project Model Expo was to allow students to display their potential in the realms of creativity and innovation. The said projects demonstrated the students’ ability to think critically, solve problems, and apply their theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios.

Creative ideas

The programme witnessed active participation from Middle and Senior Wings (Classes VI to IX and XI), who presented their highly creative ideas and enthusiastic participation in this exhibition.

The uniqueness of this exhibition lay in the fact that it covered so many subjects like mathematical science, life science, environmental science, social science, language and literature, business finance, management and economics, art and craft, sports, and physical education. Around 950 models were put up by the young minds.

Class magazine

The icing on the cake was, of course, the display of the class magazine for every section. It was a spectacular show with children showcasing their innovative ideas to present their models on several topics like Physical Science, Aerodynamics, Hydrodynamics, Space Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Machine Learning, Human Behaviour Sociology, Agricultural Food Security, Disaster Management, Earth and Environment Science, Environment issues and concerns,  Biotechnology, Genetics, Health and Hygiene, Water Harvesting, Energy Resources and Conservation, World Peace, Preservation of Cultural Heritage and History, Start-up plans, Banking, Finance and Stock Market etc.

Beautiful models

The students also presented beautiful models to show how topics like Pythagorean Theorem, Probability, Multiplication, and Square of any number in Mathematics can be taught through games, making learning enjoyable.

Other major attractions of this exhibition were Solar Desalinator, Submarine-Hydrodynamics, Chandrayaan 3, RC Smart Car, Finger Puppet, Artificial Neural Network, Hydrolic Robotic Arm, Voice Control Mechanism, Effective Way Of Water Supply, Fox Hole Radio, Crystal Radio, Automatic Door Opening System, Anti Sleep Alarm For Drivers, Robotic Dust Cleaner, AI Camera, AI-Based Street Light Control System, Maths Square Machine, Motion Sensing Highway, Solar Powered Irrigation System, The Magnetic Frontier, Laser House Security System, Self Driving Vehicle, Python And SQL Connectivity, Electric Quiz Board etc.

Mental health

One of the focal points of the expo was the array of projects dedicated to mental health awareness. The students demonstrated a deep understanding of the significance of mental well-being, presenting insightful models and informative displays. In addition to this, students also delved into the realm of foreign languages, emphasising the benefits of multilingualism. Their projects showcased the advantages of learning and mastering different languages, ranging from cognitive benefits to enhanced cultural understanding.

Traditional Painting

The students also shared important information on Traditional Painting of India, Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, Nazism: The Rise of Hitler, Language and Literature, Great Indian Mathematicians, The Lost History Of Kohinoor, Know Your Football Pitch, Mohavare And Lokoktiyan, The World’s Famous Authors, The Rise Of The Mughals, Sanskrit (Panini Vyakarana), Japanese Culture, Literature And Traditions, Time Travel etc through their exhibits.

Principal Dr Ram Singh said, “The exhibition is an excellent example of active learning, a cornerstone for successful learning that grooms children to be future-ready learners. These academic activities are wonderful tools that engage all students and teachers in learning new facts and help them develop a curiosity to acquire more using knowledge and bringing out the best from them”.
