Jamshedpur, Jan 23: Clear weather coupled with dry and crisp north-westerly wind has intensified the chill across Jharkhand.

Daltonganj, the Palamu headquarters today recorded a minimum temperature of 6.5 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal while Bokaro Steel City recorded a minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees, around six notches below normal.
Weathermen said moderate cold-wave conditions were prevailing in Bokaro and its adjoining areas.

Cold wave conditions were also prevailing in Chaibasa in the neighbouring West Singhbhum district which today recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal.

Met statistics available from IMD’s Ranchi Centre revealed that Sub-10 chill has made a comeback and that most places recorded below 10 degrees Celsius during the past 24 hours.
Capital Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, 2.8 notches below normal while Steel City Jamshedpur recorded a minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius today. The minimum temperature in Jamshedpur was three notches below normal.
Most places indicated a downward trend in minimum temperature.
However, weathermen said that the minimum temperature is likely to witness a rise after the next 48 hours.
The Ranchi Met Centre also predicted light rains over isolated areas in southern Jharkhand tomorrow.
