Dhanbad, Jan 25: Dhanbad BJP leaders got significant representation in the list of party’s in-charges, conveners and co-conveners for 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of Jharkhand.
As per the list announced by BJP state general secretary Aditya Sahu for 14 Lok Sabha constituencies, senior leader Ganesh Mishra has been made Lok Sabha Godda constituency in-charge of the party, while two-time Dhanbad Sadar MLA Raj Sinha will be Giridih Lok Sabha constituency in-charge.
Former district president Satyendra Kumar Singh, who was Dumka district in-charge of the party, has been made convener of the Dhanbad Lok Sabha constituency.

Ganesh Mishra, presently a state committee member, is one of the party’s senior leaders. He was in charge of 11 districts for the ‘Shankalpa Yatra’ launched by party president and former chief minister Babulal Marandi across the state in August last year.
Raj Sinha, two times Dhanbad Sadar MLA ( 2014 and 2019), has been given first-time responsibility in the state poll committee. He was Dhanbad district BJP president from 2004 to 2009 and is considered the most popular among the party cadres in the north Chhotanagpur division.
Satyendra Kumar Singh was the Dumka unit in charge of the party. He was president of Dhanbad district BJP from 2001 to 2004.
A senior party leader of the state committee said that since Dhanbad is a major citadel of the Party (BJP), its leaders would be given major representation in the poll committee. The BJP has four MLAs out of six in the district and an MP.
Except for 2004, the BJP has kept the Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat since 1991. Prof Rita Verma won four times ( 1991, 1996, 1998 and 1999), while present MP PN Singh has been winning since 2009, 2014 and 2019.
District BJP leaders have hailed new responsibility to their senior leaders and claimed that the nomination has created new enthusiasm among party cadres in the region.
Senior vice-president of the party Sanjay Jha, vice-presidents – Manus Prasun, Dhirendra Hansda, Dhaneswar Mahto, co-media in-charge Chandrashekhar Munna, Sudesh Mahto said that the appointment of senior leaders as in-charge and convener had increased excitement among workers for the poll.
