Daltonganj, January 25: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shashi Ranjan gave a pep-up talk on the 14th National Voters Day today.

He knew these days, people are more tuned in to listen to the word Mandir. So he picked his simile from it.

He said if someone donates just 1 rupee to the building of the Mandir, he or she is credited for his or her contribution.

“Likewise, it’s your just one vote. Cast it on the day of polling. You will have the right to say that you have contributed to the government’s making.” the DC prompted the first-time voters. No rhetoric. No pompous words.

It was an intelligent function here on 14th National Voters Day, where the attendees had the full advantage of the hot Sun in the open.

DC, the district election officer, said 41,000 plus deletions of voters have occurred. He said voters migrate, so deletion takes place.

First-time voters of both sexes were honoured today.

Palamu SP Reeshma Ramesan, too, remained present on this 14th National Voters Day.

In addition to new eligibles, the DC asked the deputy election officer Preety Kisko to give the details yet to come.

Shashi Ranjan said, “The district has done well in pre-special summary revision and post-special summary revision of the electoral rolls, but I don’t know how it comes about Palamu faring not good.”

He asked this correspondent to get details from the deputy election officer, who asked this correspondent to get it from another journalist!

However, a figure of the last three or four months said 64,000 plus new eligibles have been added to the electoral rolls here.
