New Delhi, Jan 29: In relation to the anomalies in the Kiru hydroelectric power project, the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) carried out searches at eight locations in New Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir.

“CBI conducts raids at around eight locations, seven in Delhi and one in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, based on evidence suggesting involvement in ongoing investigations related to irregularities in the awarding and civil works of the Kiru hydroelectric power project,” officials stated.

In May 2023, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out raids at 12 places in Delhi and Rajasthan, which included the residence of the former press secretary, chartered accountant, and personal assistant of the ex-governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Satyapal Malik. These actions were taken in relation to an alleged scam involving Kiru hydraulics.

When Satyapal was the governor of Jammu and Kashmir, VS Rana was his CA and KS Rana was his PA. Sunak Bali served as Satyapal’s press secretary.

The CBI team searched two locations in Rajasthan and 10 locations in Delhi.
