Daltonganj, February 6: Voting turnout has increased in India since the first Lok Sabha election in 1951-52. It was a bare 44.87 per cent voting turnout for the first Lok Sabha post-independence.
India’s first Lok Sabha election was held between October 25 1951, and February 21 1952. It was because of inclement weather and complex logistics to have.
The first Lok Sabha election was held in 68 phases. There was no election then for the Lok Sabha in Jammu and Kashmir.
The first Lok Sabha election was held for 489 seats in India. For a majority, 245 seats were mandated, and in the first Lok Sabha election, the Indian National Congress had a landslide victory by winning 364 Lok Sabha seats.

Bhartiya Jan Sangh
The Bhartiya Jan Sangh had finished with poor three seats in the first Lok Sabha election.
Socialist Party
The Socialist Party bagged 12 seats, while the CPI bagged 16 Lok Sabha seats. However, there was a continuous progression of voting percentages.
In the 17th Lok Sabha election held in 2019, India polled 67.40 per cent. Some of its states polled much higher, like Chhattisgarh, which polled 71.64 per cent in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, MP 71.20 per cent, Karnataka 68.81 per cent and Jharkhand 66.80 per cent, to name a few states.
Poll campaigns
Poll campaigns used to be extremely exhaustive and vigorous, but the turnout of the voters was relatively less charismatic.
In the run-up to this Lok Sabha election, Muslims will have their one-month-long holy Ramzan. It is from mid-March to mid-April.
Again, as there was poor rain last year, summer will be severe here.
It will be challenging for the administration to either retain the 2019 voting percentage of Jharkhand or succeed in adding a few more percentages of the voting in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
