Dhanbad, February 7: Tamanna Kumari and Nitish Kumar became Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Inter College Sindri’s best girls’ and boys’ athletes, respectively.
Tamanna got the Milind Memorial Trophy, while Nitish Kumar was given the prestigious VP Singh Memorial Trophy, a mark of supremacy in institutions and sports.
Besides that, Pihu Kumari got the UK Nag Memorial Trophy, Ashthami Kumari got the DC Banerjee Trophy, and Suraj Shukla got the Shibu Singh Memorial Trophy for their outstanding achievement.
However, Rajkumar and Tamanna Kumari were declared the fastest boy and girl after winning the prestigious 100-metre race in the institution’s annual sports meet.

President of Dr SPM College Arun Kumar Singh was chief guest on the occasion, and he, along with principal Dr JK Banerjee, gave away prizes and Trophies to successful athletes.
In 100 metres race, Rajkumar, Vishal Singh, and Jatin Sharma got silver and bronze medals, respectively. At the same time, in the girls’ event, Taman,na Kumari, Soni Kumari and Ashthami Kumari were declared second and third, respectively.
In the shotput event, Ashthami Kumari bagged 1st position, followed by Nikki Kumari and Ishika Kumari in 2nd and 3rd position, respectively. In the boys’ category, Aditya Kumar won gold while Nitish Kumar and Sumit Mahant got 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.
In the skipping event, Lakhi Kumari got 1st position, followed by Rani Kumari and Kumara Gauri in 2nd and 3rd positions. Rahul Yadav got the gold medal in the boys’ long jump, while Nitish Kumar and Ravishankar got silver and bronze, respectively.
In the girls’ long jump, Tamanna got 1st position, Nikki Kumar in 2nd position, and Soni and Priti in 3rd.
Ravina led the Kabaddi team to become champion.
