Jamshedpur, Feb 8: Minimum temperature dropped in almost all the 24 districts of Jharkhand during the past 24 hours due to the dominating cold and crisp North-Westerly wind.
Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 12.2 degrees Celsius while Jamshedpur recorded a minimum temperature of 14.4 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature dropped to 10.2 degrees Celsius in Bokaro while Chaibasa in the neighbouring West Singbhum district recorded a minimum temperature of 10.5 degrees Celsius.
Met statistics revealed that most districts across Jharkhand recorded a fall in minimum temperature during the past 24 hours due to the dominating north-westerly currents.

According to weathermen, the minimum temperature will continue to witness a drop in the next 48 hours after which the temperature is expected to witness a rise.
Meanwhile, satellite pictures suggested that the Western Disturbance was seen as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level running along Long. 70°E to the north of Lat. 30°N.
A low-pressure trough was running roughly along Long. 90°E to the north of Lat. 25°N at 1.5 km above mean sea level.
