Jharkhand: Overwhelming response to Rotary Club Jamshedpur’s blood donation camp

Jamshedpur, Feb 9: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City, in collaboration with the Red Cross Society, organised a highly successful Blood Donation Camp at the Red Cross Society Bhawan.

The event aimed to contribute to the noble cause of ensuring an ample supply of blood for those in need, and it witnessed enthusiastic participation from the community.

The event was graced by the presence of Rotary Steel City’s President, Amrita Vakharia, and Assistant Governor, Hetal Adesara. Both leaders shared inspiring words about the significance of blood donation and commended the donors of Jamshedpur for their continuous support to this critical cause.

The lighting of the lamp ceremony was conducted by Sanjay from Jamshedpur Blood Bank, along with Amrita Vakharia, Secretary Preeti Khara, and Hetal Adesara, symbolizing the illuminating impact of collective efforts in saving lives.

102 units of blood donated

In a heartening display of generosity, a total of 102 units of blood were donated during the camp. Each donor received tokens of appreciation, including caps, certificates, refreshments, and thoughtful gifts as a gesture of gratitude for their selfless contribution to the community.

30 SDP donors

Special recognition was given to approximately 30 Single Donor Platelet (SDP) Donors, who have consistently demonstrated eagerness to donate platelets.

Their stories, shared during the event, highlighted the commitment and dedication of the people of Jamshedpur towards fulfilling the ongoing need for blood and platelets.

Felicitation ceremony

The felicitation ceremony also acknowledged outstanding contributors, including Nilesh Kumar Singh from Tata Steel Workers’ Union and Kumaresh Hazra, a youth blood donor who has donated blood an impressive 100 times.

Their commitment serves as an inspiration to others, emphasising the community’s united effort in meeting the constant demand for blood and platelets.
