Jamshedpur, Feb 9: Andhra Association English School Kadma celebrated its 30th Annual Sports Day yesterday amidst great mirth, verve and camaraderie.
The chief guest on the occasion was Vibhuti Adesara, (Head Sports, Events and Training Centres), J R D Sports Complex, Tata Steel.
Present on the occasion were the executive managing committee of Andhra Association, B Uma Shankar Rao, the principal, teachers, non-teaching staff, and a large gathering of students and parents.
The principal extended a floral and formal welcome to the guests and dignitaries and shared a brief report of the school’s sports activities and the achievements of students.
This was entailed by the hoisting of the Flag and official inauguration of the sports meet by the chief guest followed by ceremonial release of balloons and lighting of the torch by the chief guest to mark the expression of joy and merriment.

The guests were accompanied by the principal for the inspection of the parade followed by the guard of honour, march past and oath ceremony.
The most intriguing aspect, embellishing the event was the group displays including P.T. and Rainbow, which were well synchronized and left the spectators awestruck.
The chief guest addressed the students and congratulated the entire Andhra Association English School family for an excellent event.
She further spoke on the importance of sports and fitness activities in the life of every student.
Several field and track events were conducted and winners were announced and felicitated on the sports day. A vote of thanks from the vice-principal concluded the annual sports day function.
Modassir Imam was adjudged the best athlete in the boys’ category while Geetika Sharma won the best athlete award in the girls’ section.
Emerald emerged as the winner house while Sapphire was adjudged the runners-up house.
