New Delhi, Dec 21: Aam Aadmi Party leaders Balbir Singh and Sukhbir Dalal joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday, in the presence of Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, party general secretary Ashish Sood, and union minister Harsh Malhotra.

Balbir Singh expressed frustration with the Delhi government and said that despite orders from Delhi LG VK Saxena to hire more Punjabi teachers, appointments have been deliberately delayed, impacting many Sikh students in government schools.

Sukhbir Dalal voices disappointment over the failed promise of a sports university, noting that despite the passing of the act with great difficulty, nothing had been done in five years, not even the construction of a road.

He criticized Kejriwal for misleading the public by claiming to allocate a budget of ₹2100 crore, which left him disillusioned. Dalal stated that if Kejriwal could deceive people in such a manner, he could no longer remain in AAP.

Delhi’s assembly elections are expected to take place in early 2025, though the Election Commission has not yet declared the official dates.

AAP has announced its entire list of candidates, featuring key leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi and Manish Sisodia.

Delhi last held its Assembly elections in February 2020 in which the AAP won 62 out of the 70 Assembly seats.
