During the encounter, the suspects fired at the police, injuring Head Constable Gurpreet Singh and striking Inspector Amolak Singh’s turban, according to Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav. The police returned fire in self-defense, hitting one of the accused.

CCTV footage of the blast showed two individuals arriving on a motorcycle, waiting briefly, and then one of them hurling an explosive device toward the temple before fleeing. While no injuries were reported, the explosion caused damage to the temple’s walls and windows, triggering panic in Amritsar’s Khandwala area.
