Jamshedpur, March 17: A partly cloudy sky and dry weather are expected to prevail in most parts of the state today.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre withdrew the heat wave alert today as the maximum temperature witnessed a drop.
Notably, heat wave prevailed in several pockets of the state yesterday, with Jamshedpur notching the highest maximum temperature of 40.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Yesterday’s maximum reading in Jamshedpur was 7 degrees above normal.

Chaibasa in West Singhbhum had recorded a maximum temperature of 39.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The maximum temperature was 6 degrees above normal.

The maximum temperature hovered around 36 degrees Celsius in Ranchi, Bokaro, and several other places today.
Satellite pictures indicated an upper air cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan and south Haryana at 1.5 km above mean sea level.
An upper air cyclonic circulation also lies over northwest Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood at 0.9 Km above mean sea level.
