Jamshedpur, Nov 20: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has welcomed MLA Saryu Roy’s proposal to make East Singhbhum a child-friendly district. He was speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the seven-day Fourth Children’s Fair 2025.

Arjun Munda said the fair is giving a positive and constructive direction, and everyone’s participation is important. “The good thing is that people are joining. Everyone carries childhood in their memories,” he said.

He added that a child’s development depends on society and environment, not just the child. When people move from childhood to adulthood, they reflect on what they have achieved and aim for higher goals.

“Our traditions must reflect in our lives. The Children’s Fair has created a positive environment. At a time when intimacy is losing values, we found comfort here. We should remember that we should not only create objects but also personalities,” Munda said.

He congratulated the organisers for reviving the fair after the COVID years.

Saryu Roy Highlights the Success of the Fair

Jamshedpur West MLA and fair patron Saryu Roy said the fair hosted 18 sports and cultural events, with over 10,000 children participating from different parts of Jamshedpur.
A total of 42 stalls were set up.

Roy said children have immense talent, and with proper nurturing, their future will shine. Even children who cannot attend school and work as ragpickers were included in the fair. He also read and dedicated the Jamshedpur Declaration to the public.

During the event, Manita Mahato presented a flower-like artwork to Arjun Munda. Renowned painter Dipankar Karmakar was also present.

Child Scientist Competition

Winners of the four Child Scientist categories were announced:

First Prize: Ayank Raj, Ayush Kumar, Shriram Dubey, Vivek Kumar

Second Prize: Ansh Kumar, Kislay Paul

Third Prize: Ansh Kumar Sinha

The stage was anchored by Ashutosh Roy, trustee of Swarnarekha Area Development Trust.
Social worker and industrialist Ashok Goyal delivered the welcome address, and Sudhir Singh proposed the vote of thanks.

Dozens of people attended, including Chittaranjan Verma, Vinod Singh, Harendra Pandey, Rajiv Singh, Sanjeev Sinha, Praveen Singh, Kulwinder Pannu, and Subodh Srivastava.
