Ranchi, Dec 4: IES University, Bhopal today conferred an honorary degree of “Doctor of Philosophy” (Doctorate) on Padma Shri awardee Ashok Bhagat.
Ashok Bhagat, the founder secretary of Vikas Bharti Bishunpur, has been working for the holistic development of tribals since 1983 in Jharkhand.
He received the doctorate from the hands of Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangu Bhai Patel and Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar at the first convocation of IES University.
Along with Bhagat, Padma Bhushan awardee Sudha Narayan Murthy and Param Vir Chakra winner Subedar Major Yogendra Singh Yadav were also awarded the honorary degree.
It is worth noting that before this, Bhagat had been awarded similar honorary degrees by two universities.
