Ranchi, April 4: BJP’s Jharkhand president and Leader of Opposition, Babulal Marandi, launched a sharp attack on the Jharkhand government over the growing unemployment crisis in the state.

Citing recent data from the Labour Department, he pointed out that Jharkhand currently has 3,44,823 registered unemployed individuals, including 2,45,420 men and 99,382 women.
Unemployment Crisis Deepens
Marandi highlighted that the unemployment situation in Jharkhand is worsening with each passing day. He stated that despite such alarming figures, the government has failed to take any concrete or effective steps to address the issue.

“Youths are being forced to migrate out of the state in search of employment or take up temporary, low-paying jobs out of desperation. The number of educated unemployed is rising rapidly. While thousands of young people are pursuing higher education, they still lack suitable job opportunities,” he said.

Lack of Government Initiatives
According to Marandi, government recruitments are either delayed indefinitely or marred by a lack of transparency, leading to further frustration among job seekers. The limited industrial sector and rising crime rates are also restricting the creation of new job opportunities.
“Niyojan offices (employment exchanges) have been reduced to mere registration centers, failing to play any meaningful role in job placements. The government’s apathy towards unemployment is clearly visible,” he added.
Appeal for Transparent Job Creation
Urging Chief Minister Hemant Soren to take transparent and honest measures for job creation, Marandi emphasized that proactive steps are needed to ensure employment opportunities for Jharkhand’s youth.
“The government must act responsibly so that young people can contribute to the state’s development while securing a dignified livelihood,” he stated.
