Chateauroux, July 30: The duo of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh triumphed in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. They won the bronze medal by defeating South Korea, achieving a historic milestone at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday.
The Indian team triumphed 16-10 over the Koreans to claim the country’s second medal at the prestigious event.
This victory also made Bhaker the first Indian since independence to earn two medals in a single edition of the Games. Earlier, she had secured a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the same venue.
Manu and Sarabjot defeated South Korea’s Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10 in the Bronze Medal play-off. This win brings India’s total medal count to two at the Paris Olympics. Both Bhaker and Sarabjot delivered consistent performances, regularly hitting 10s throughout the series against the Korean team.
