The seat-sharing discussions involved coordination within the INDIA bloc, which includes the Congress, RJD, the three Left parties—CPI(ML) Liberation, CPI, and CPI(M)—as well as the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), which joined during last year’s Lok Sabha elections.

The alliance is also expected to bring on board Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s JMM and the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) headed by former Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras.

Bihar Congress is also working to accommodate new entrants within the bloc, a move that may require sacrifices in seat allocation. In the 2020 elections, the Congress had contested 70 out of 243 assembly seats and won 19 of them.

Senior leaders, including AICC Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru, have indicated that the party is ready to adjust its seat-sharing strategy to include newer allies in the coalition.
