Lakhisarai, Nov 20: In Punjabi Mohalla under the Kabaiya police station of the Lakhisarai district of Bihar, two family members were shot dead and four others were injured on Monday morning.
The occurrence took place as the victims were returning home following their observance of prayers at Chhath Ghat.
The police stated that a love affair was the reason for the violence. The three individuals who sustained injuries were initially brought to Begusarai Sadar Hospital but were later referred to Patna for more extensive treatment.

The individuals who lost their lives in the incident have been recognized as Chandan Kumar and Rajnandan Kumar, while those who sustained injuries are Lovely Kumari, Preeti Kumari, Durga Kumari, and Shashi Bhushan Kumar. All of them are reported to be members of the same family.
“Two members of a family were shot dead and four others were injured in Punjabi Mohalla under the Kabaiya police station of Lakhisarai. The incident took place when they were returning from Chhath Ghat after performing Pooja,” Lakhisarai SP, Pankaj Kumar stated.
“Three injured have been referred from Begusarai Sadar Hospital to Patna. The matter is related to a love affair. Police have reached the spot and an investigation is underway,” he added.
Upon being notified, the police promptly arrived at the location and retrieved the pistol involved in the crime.
The incident has notably left the local residents in shock and sorrow, particularly as it occurred during the significant and joyous Chhath Puja celebrations in Bihar.
