Nalanda, June 3: JDU leader Anil Kumar was brutally killed by criminals in Maua village, which is under the jurisdiction of Parwalpur police station in the Nalanda district of Bihar.

Anil Kumar was appointed as a polling agent for this year’s Lok Sabha elections. He took on this role during the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections on June 1.

Police team looking for suspects identified by deceased’s family

Gopal Krishna, the DSP of Hilsa in Nalanda, discussed the incident, noting that on June 3 in Maua village, located in the Parwalpur police station area, 62-year-old Anil Kumar was found injured around 4:30 am. His family took him to the primary health centre in Parwalpur, and he was later transferred to Sadar Hospital in Bihar Sharif. Despite these efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

Krishna elaborated that upon being informed, the police swiftly arrived at the hospital and arranged for the body to undergo postmortem examination. Additionally, a dedicated police team has been dispatched to Maua village to pursue the suspects whose identities were provided by the victim’s relatives.

Family members, JDU leader allege RJD’s involvement in murder

The family members of the deceased and JDU leader Kaushalendra Kumar have accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of threatening to kill Anil Kumar on the day of the polling. They claim that RJD members had issued warnings of dire consequences even prior to the announcement of the election results.

Anil Kumar’s family claims that some individuals attacked and assassinated the JDU leader this morning as he was leaving his house for his farm. The JDU leader was allegedly slain by a sharp weapon after being beaten by the people.

Upon receiving news of the incident, Kaushalendra Kumar promptly arrived at the hospital, where he met with the deceased’s family members and assured them of his full support and assistance in any way possible.
