Dhanbad, Dec 4: International institution, the Intellectual Property Office of the United Kingdom ( UK) has registered a ‘design patent’ of BIT Sindri chemical engineering department assistant professor Dr Abhishek Anand Hembram.

AI-powered sunsieve

The design topic of Dr Abhishek Anand  Hembram is –‘AI-Powered Sunsieve to Optimize Solar Energy for Eco-Friendly Drying Systems.

Shedding light on his design patent, Dr Hembram said that the integration of AI-powered sunsieve to optimize solar energy technology brings multifaceted benefits to solar drying systems. “ Primarily its ability is to analyze the factors such as weather conditions, ensuring peak energy efficiency”, he said.

The registration holds special significance for the institution as Dr Abhishek Anand Hembram is the first faculty member of BIT Sindri whose design patent has been registered by the UK Intellectual Office. So far patent of other faculty members has been registered at the national level only.

Dr Hembram joined BIT Sindri as an assistant professor in January 2021. He completed his M.Tech  and PhD from IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad. He had completed his B.Tech from BIT Sindri.

Vice-Chancellor of  Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) Ranchi  Dr DK Singh, BIT Sindri director Dr Pankaj Rai, Dr Amit Gupta, head of the department of chemical engineering have congratulated Dr Hembram for his outstanding patent achievement.

A senior faculty member of the chemical engineering department said that the contribution of Dr Abhishek Anand Hembram to the field of research, projects and patents is commendable.
