Dhanbad, Dec 4: State Congress committee senior vice-president Brajendra Prasad Singh has demanded the immediate suspension of the Dhanbad jail superintendent and the jailer for firing in the jail in which an under trial prisoner Aman Singh was killed.
Brajendra Prasad Singh, who is also Dhanbad 20-point programme committee vice-president, while expressing concern over the firing incident in jail today shot off a letter to the state government demanding a SIT probe after suspending the jail officers so that evidence can be saved from tampering.
On Sunday afternoon Aman Singh, one of the accused of the Dhanbad deputy mayor Neeraj Singh murder case, was gunned down in the jail. He was also accused of several extortion and killing cases in Bokaro and Dhanbad.

“It is a matter of probe that how the arms reached inside the jail and disappeared from premises after the incident”, said the senior Congress leader.
Brajendra Prasad Singh said that no doubt Aman Singh was involved in several crime cases but the way he was killed in judicial custody is condemnable. This is the first time a person in Dhanbad has been killed in judicial custody.
“Availability of arms inside the jail can’t be possible without connivance of the jail authorities. So, I urge the state government to set up an SIT probe of the incident and take action against responsible officers of jail”, said Congress leader Singh.
