BITCON 2024: Experts stress cutting-edge research and innovation

Dhanbad Dec 7: Renowned experts from different institutions stressed cutting-edge research and innovation in the two-day BIT Sindri IEEE flagship international conference BITCON-2024 which began today.

The subject of the international conference is ‘Next Generation Applications in Green Energy Technology’.

Prof. Sukumar Mishra, director of IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad was the chief speaker of the conference and while addressing he shed light on the significance of interdisciplinary approaches in addressing global technological challenges.

Prof Mishra also stressed on need for cutting-edge technology research and sustainable innovation.

Besides Prof Mishra of IIT ISM, Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) Vice Chancellor Dr D.K. Singh, BIT Sindri director Dr Pankaj Rai, KTMP project director Priyankar Saxena, Dr Md Abul Kalam, head of Electrical department cum conference chair and conference convener Dr Vineet Shekhar attended the meet.

IIT ISM director inaugurates the conference

Dr D K Singh (chief patron of the conference), the Vice-Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT), while addressing emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in driving academic and industrial progress.

Earlier in the morning in his welcome address, BIT Sindri director Prof. Pankaj Rai highlighted the institution’s legacy of fostering innovation and its dedication to bridging the gap between academia and industry.

During the conference, Dr. Upendra Prasad, professor Electrical Department honoured Prof. Sukumar Mishra. Dr. D.K. Tanti, professor Electrical Department felicitated Priyankar Saxena.

Dr Vineet Shekhar, (convener) proposed a vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the guests, organisers and participants for their active involvement in making the inaugural ceremony a success.

Dr Md Abul Kalam, head of the electrical department said BITCON 2024, a flagship IEEE initiative, is set to provide a platform for leading researchers, industry experts, and students to discuss advancements in engineering and technology, with a special focus on “Next Generation Applications in Green Energy Technology.
