Ranchi, Oct 3: BJP state president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi addressed a press conference at the state office on Thursday. On this occasion, he stated that Hemant Soren will now have to answer and account for the last five years. He emphasized that every penny of the looting that has occurred will be recovered.
He added that it would be in everyone’s best interest to conduct an investigation into all the irregularities that have taken place so far. This way, the people of the state will feel that they are genuinely working with integrity.
Wrote several letters to CM: Marandi
Marandi stated that he has written several letters to the Chief Minister regarding the corruption and scams that have occurred in the state. He had already alerted the government about the irregularities, urging them to protect themselves and the state from such issues.
He added that if the state does not take measures to protect itself from corruption, they will also end up getting burned by the same fire and no one will be able to save them.
The state president stated that various issues will be addressed in the five-year accountability discussion and mentioned that he had written several letters to the Chief Minister regarding multiple matters.

Illegal stone mining in Sahibganj
“Illegal stone mining and transportation have been ongoing in Sahibganj. Transportation was also conducted from illegal ghats, including at night using water routes. There were reports that an accident could occur at any time, which prompted me to write to the state government and the Chief Minister. However, the Chief Minister did not acknowledge the letter,” he said
“Approximately one to one and a half years after writing the letter, a vehicle accident occurred. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a scam involving thousands of crores of rupees in stone mining had taken place in Sahibganj. The investigation is still ongoing, and several cases have been filed against various individuals”, he added.
Coal theft running under govt protection
Marandi stated that there is also a case of coal theft. During Hemant Soren’s tenure, coal theft broke all records and set a new benchmark. This theft occurred under the protection of the government.
“The BJP has staged several protests in Dhanbad regarding coal theft, and I have also written to the Chief Minister about this issue. The SP, who raised the banner of failure in Palamu, has been posted in Dhanbad. I informed the Chief Minister in my letter that assigning such an officer would mean that crime in the district would never cease. Many officers from his batch have been promoted, but he has not received a promotion because, if promoted, he would have to be removed from the SP position”, he said.

Marandi stated that there was a case in the High Court regarding the investigation of coal theft. The High Court has directed a CBI investigation into this matter, which is commendable. With the CBI investigation, the truth will come to light, distinguishing between what is genuine and what is not.
Marandi stated that if Chief Minister Hemant Soren is truly clean, he should suspend the officers involved in coal theft and file FIRs against them. Otherwise, it will be assumed that Hemant Soren is complicit in the coal theft.
He added that the Hemant government files cases against those who speak out against it, and he himself has faced multiple cases. The government is using the police administration as a tool to suppress any dissenting voices that rise against it.
