Ranchi, April 30: Fulfilling his earlier promise, BJP State President Aditya Sahu on Thursday visited the residence of Jharkhand Matric topper Prem Kumar Sahu and handed over financial assistance of ₹1 lakh.

Prem, son of Arjun Sahu from Nevri in Ranchi district’s Kanke block, secured 498 marks (99.60%) to rank first in the state. A student of Premchand High School, Mesra, his achievements have brought recognition to the region.
The BJP also announced an incentive of ₹1 lakh each for three other toppers—Priyanshu Kumari (Hazaribagh), Shivangi Kumari (Bano), and Sunny Kumar Verma (Ranchi)—who scored 498 marks (99.60%).

BJP reiterates commitment to students
Speaking on the occasion, Aditya Sahu said the party remains committed to recognising talent and supporting students. He noted that Prem’s success is an inspiration and said the assistance aims to help him pursue further studies.
Sahu added that similar support will be extended to other toppers to encourage academic excellence across the state.
Focus on education and encouragement
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Sahu said the party is working towards service, dedication, and nation-building by supporting talented students.
He emphasised that timely encouragement can help students achieve success and contribute to society and the state.
Sahu also highlighted the importance of social responsibility, stating that individuals should work for the welfare and upliftment of others.
The initiative, he said, is part of ongoing efforts to promote education and reward merit in Jharkhand.
