Jaipur, Nov 16: JP Nadda, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Thursday released the party’s ‘Sankalp Patra’, or manifesto, for the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections in Jaipur.
In the course of this event, BJP National President JP Nadda, accompanied by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, Rajasthan BJP President CP Joshi, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Vasundhara Raje, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Satish Poonia, and other individuals, were in attendance.
The manifesto or the Sankalp Patra has been named ‘Aapano Agranee Rajasthan Sankalp Patr 2003’ (Our leading Rajasthan Manifesto).
In the party’s manifesto, the BJP has declared a subsidy of ₹450 per LPG cylinder for beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme and the creation of 2.5 lakh government jobs if they come into power.
Several important resolutions focused on enhancing people’s lives are outlined in the party manifesto, some of them are:
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: The party intends to raise the annual financial aid given to farmers through this program to Rs 12,000 per year.
Laho Incentive Scheme: The purpose of this initiative is to help low-income families by giving them a savings bond when their daughters are born. The bond will yield payments of Rs 26,000 in class 6, Rs 18,000 in class 9, Rs 10,000 in class 10, Rs 12,000 in class 11, Rs 14,000 in class 12, Rs 50,000 in the first and final year of vocational school and a one-time payment of Rs 1 lakh at the age of 21.
Direct Benefit Transfer: Students from low-income households would get an annual grant of Rs 1,200 to help with the cost of school supplies like books, clothes and bags.
Bhamashah Health Infrastructure Mission: The party intends to allocate Rs 40,000 crores to this mission, which seeks to enhance and modernise healthcare infrastructure.
Special Investigation Team: The party intends to establish a dedicated team to promptly investigate instances of paper leaks and to take stringent actions against those responsible.
While unveiling the manifesto, BJP National President JP Nadda highlighted the party’s dedication to its manifesto, drawing a distinction from other parties where, as per his assertion, the manifesto is considered a mere formality. He emphasized that, for the BJP, the manifesto acts as a guiding blueprint for development.
“…I would like to say that for other parties, the manifesto is just a formality. But for the BJP, it’s a roadmap for development. So this ‘Sankalp Patra’ is not just words written on the page, but we are committed to fulfilling these sentences… Our history is the proof that we did whatever we said,” JP Nadda said.
The BJP President criticized the Congress Party’s performance over the last five years, highlighting various areas of concern. He mentioned issues like high electricity costs, high petrol and diesel VAT, disregard for farmers, disrespect for women and corruption.
“I want to clear out the differences between the BJP and Congress… The Congress Party became known for five things in five years. These are corruption, the disrespect of women, and neglected farmers. This is the state where the rate of electricity is highest and petrol and diesel have the highest VAT. The number of paper leaks that happened here has broken records,” he stated.
Rajasthan is scheduled for elections on November 25, and the results, along with those of four other state assembly elections, will be counted on December 3.
In the 200-member assembly, the Congress secured 99 seats and the BJP 73 in the 2018 Rajasthan assembly elections.
