BJP president JP Nadda submits Rajya Sabha candidacy from Gujarat

Gandhinagar, Feb 15: JP Nadda, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, on Thursday submitted his nomination for the Rajya Sabha candidacy from Gujarat.

In the presence of state party leaders and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupinder Patel, Nadda submitted his nomination.

Currently, Nadda serves as a member of the Rajya Sabha representing Himachal Pradesh.

The BJP has nominated four candidates for Gujarat for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections.

In addition to Nadda, the BJP has nominated three other leaders from Gujarat: Govindbhai Dholakia, Mayankbhai Nayak, and Jashvantsinh Parmar.

Ashwini Vaishnav fielded from MP

Furthermore, the BJP declared that it would be fielding Union ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw from Odisha and L Murugan from Madhya Pradesh in the next elections.

The party announced 14 candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections earlier this week, which included party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi and former Union Minister RPN Singh.

Rajya Sabha polls on Feb 27, results on same day

Today marks the deadline for submitting nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha polls.

Elections for the Rajya Sabha for 15 states, including Uttar Pradesh, are set for February 27 by the Election Commission.

The day’s voting hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On the same day, February 27, the election results will be declared.

The Election Commission officially announced the biennial Rajya Sabha polls for 56 seats, necessitated by the conclusion of the incumbents’ terms in April.
