New Delhi, March 2: The BJP has released a list of 195 candidates for the next Lok Sabha elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be running for a third term from Varanasi, and Home Minister Amit Shah, who is running again from Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

The list comprises 34 ministers and two ex-chief ministers, along with 28 women, 47 leaders below the age of 50, and 57 members from the OBC community. Among the 195 individuals, 51 hail from Uttar Pradesh, 20 from West Bengal and five from Delhi.

Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of Sushma Swaraj, Manoj Tiwari, and Praveen Khandelwal are the candidates for Delhi.

Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, previously elected from the Rajya Sabha, will run for election from Porbandar in Gujarat. BJP has declared candidates for 15 seats out of the 26 in Gujarat.

Thiruvananthapuram is anticipated to witness a compelling contest, with Rajya Sabha member and minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar contesting against Congress’ Shashi Tharoor, the current seat holder.

Other ministers include Jyotiraditya Scindia, who will run for office from Guna in Madhya Pradesh, and Bhupender Yadav, a Rajya Sabha MP, who will contest from Alwar.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Vidisha.
