Ranchi, Oct 10: BJP state president Babulal Marandi has written a letter to Governor C P Radhakrishnan requesting him to impose President’s rule in Jharkhand.
Marandi, in his letter, has written that the constitutional system has failed in Jharkhand. “The attitude of the state government and its officials towards the investigative agencies probing money laundering and corruption in the state is not good. The investigating agencies have been writing letters to the office of the state Chief Secretary since 2022 requesting them to take action, but no action is being taken,” he pointed out.
The former chief minister said that ED has sent many requests in some cases of money laundering, but neither any action was taken nor any response was given to them.
More than 10 money laundering cases pending
Marandi said that more than ten cases are pending in the office of the Chief Secretary to take action against high officials in corruption cases. Neither any response nor any action has been given to the investigating agencies, especially in cases where the agencies have provided overwhelming evidence along with the said request.
He said that he had written a letter to the Chief Secretary and the Chief Minister regarding this, but neither of them gave any reply. “This proves that the state government is actively protecting the accused persons,” he alleged.
“The government is acting against the real spirit of the Constitution, due to which the constitutional system has broken down,” Marandi said.
