Ranchi, June 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday held simultaneous protests across all 264 block and circle offices in Jharkhand, accusing the state government of administrative failure, corruption, and neglect of key public issues.
The demonstrations were led by state president and leader of opposition Babulal Marandi, along with acting president Ravindra Kumar Rai, MP Aditya Sahu, former chief ministers Arjun Munda, Raghubar Das, Champai Soren, former leader of opposition Amar Kumar Bauri, and other party leaders and legislators.
Criticism of Rural Governance and Resource Management
Speaking at protests in Teesri and Gawaan blocks in Giridih district, Marandi criticised the government for failing to support tribal communities, farmers, youth, and the rural poor. He alleged that despite promises, the administration remains unchanged in its intent and approach from the previous term.

Marandi said brokers and middlemen are looting state mineral resources, while villagers face difficulties even accessing basic construction materials for housing schemes. He claimed residents are harassed for transporting sand, while large-scale operators go unchecked.
Healthcare and Land Administration Under Scrutiny
The BJP also targeted deficiencies in rural healthcare. Protesters claimed that block-level hospitals lack doctors, medicines, and ambulances, forcing patients to travel to district headquarters or the state capital.

On land issues, Marandi alleged that bribes are being demanded for land registration and documentation, which is leading to increased illegal occupation of land owned by economically disadvantaged individuals.
Unemployment, Education, and Youth Concerns
The party expressed alarm over rising youth unemployment, alleging that jobs are being sold rather than fairly distributed. The lack of state-level job protections, they said, has allowed candidates from outside Jharkhand to dominate local opportunities.
BJP leaders also criticised the government’s failure to strengthen intermediate-level education. They pointed out that the exclusion of Class 11 and 12 from university education has not been matched with adequate support for inter-colleges, leaving thousands of students in limbo.
Issues in Paddy Procurement and Farmer Payments
Concerns were also raised about the procurement of paddy. Despite promises of a support price of ₹3,200 per quintal, the government allegedly procured paddy at ₹2,400 per quintal, with only ₹100 of that amount contributed by the state. Many farmers have reportedly not received their payments.
Warning of Further Agitation
Marandi stated that this protest was just the beginning of a broader campaign. If the government does not address public grievances, the BJP warned of expanded demonstrations at police stations, district offices, and other administrative hubs.
Memoranda listing local issues were submitted at each block office as part of the protest action.
