New Delhi, Nov 22: Bodo groups gathered at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar to press the Centre for swift implementation of the Bodo Accord and the long-pending 125th Constitutional Amendment Bill.

Speaking at the demonstration, All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) president Dipen Boro stressed that despite multiple discussions with the Union Home Minister and over 12 tripartite review meetings chaired by the Union Home Secretary, several provisions of the 2020 peace pact remain unattended.

Boro asserted that strengthening the financial and administrative authority of Sixth Schedule councils in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram is crucial, especially since armed groups from these regions have already laid down arms after signing peace agreements.

He stated that more than half a dozen commitments in the accord have yet to see proper execution, raising frustration among stakeholders and prompting renewed calls for government action.
