Ranchi, March 6: Film actress Ameesha Patel has agreed to pay the outstanding amount in the cheque bounce case on Wednesday. Based on mutual agreement, her lawyer informed the court that she was ready to give Rs 2.75 crore to the applicant, Ajay Singh. Afterwards, the court directed Patel to appear tomorrow and record her statement under Section 313 of CrPC.
Singh’s lawyer, Vijay Laxmi, said that the offer appears suitable. “Let us see whether she appears in the court tomorrow,” she added.
The court directed her to appear at the last hearing, but citing personal reasons, she did not appear on Wednesday.
The court of JMFC (Judicial Magistrate First Class) Digvijay Nath Shukla of Ranchi Civil Court is hearing this case.
What is the case?
Notably, the cheque bounce case has been against Ameesha Patel since 2017.
According to the complainant, Ajay Kumar Singh, 2017 during a programme at the Harmu Housing Colony, met Ameesha Patel and got an offer to invest in films.
According to the allegations, he transferred Rs 2.5 crore to Patel’s account to make Desi Magic, but the actress neither worked for the film nor returned the money. After much pressure, she issued a cheque, which bounced.
Ajay Kumar Singh is the proprietor of Lover World Entertainment.
In this case, Ameesha Patel surrendered in the Ranchi Civil Court on June 17 2023.
