Ranchi, February 15: Today, the Special (PMLA) court sent former Chief Minister Hemant Soren into judicial custody till February 22 in the Ranchi land scam.

The ED produced him in court after his 13-day remand concluded today. Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan, appearing on Soren’s behalf, said he will file a bail petition now.

The ED arrested the former chief minister on January 31 for illegally acquiring 8.5 acres of land in Ranchi.

After hearing this, Soren was sent to Birsa Munda Central Jail.

Notably, the state government has declared the IAS Club at Deendayal Nagar as a camp jail where he will be lodged.
