Ranchi, March 19: JMM chief Shibu Soren’s granddaughter and daughter of Sita Soren is all set to contest the Lok Sabha elections on the BJP ticket from Dumka, the JMM’s bastion.
“Though the BJP has announced to field Sunil Soren from Dumka, talks are on to replace him with Jayshree,” said a senior BJP leader requesting anonymity.
Notably, Sita joined the BJP in New Delhi minutes after quitting the JMM on Tuesday.
Jayshree, a fashion design graduate, heads the Durga Soren Sena, an apolitical front she floated a few years back. Her younger sister, Rajshree Soren, is the executive president of the Sena.
Some time back, Jayshree told the media that her grandfather, Shibu Soren and father, Durga Soren, dedicated themselves to the state of Jharkhand.
“My father, Durga Soren, had dreamed that every hand should get employment, every field should get water…The organisational structure of Durga Soren Sena has been set up to address the problems of the common man. The army will mainly work on water, forests and land,” she said.
Jayashree had then also criticised the leaders who had joined Hemant Soren and were defaming the government.
