C-DOT and PNB join hands to drive secure, tech-driven banking transformation

New Delhi, Sept 13: The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), a premier R&D institution under the Ministry of Communications, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India’s leading public sector banks. The agreement aims to reinforce PNB’s IT infrastructure and accelerate its technology transformation journey.

The collaboration focuses on harnessing indigenous technology solutions to boost secure, scalable, and inclusive banking services. Under the MoU, C-DOT will provide specialized IT products and services tailored to PNB’s strategic requirements.

Key areas include secure digital transactions using advanced telecom infrastructure, robust cybersecurity frameworks, and indigenous innovations in switching, routing, wireless technology, software applications, AI, and quantum communication. The agreement also covers ongoing support and maintenance to ensure regulatory-compliant and future-ready IT capabilities.

Leaders Emphasize Collaborative Innovation

The signing ceremony was held at C-DOT Headquarters in New Delhi, attended by senior officials from both organizations.

Speaking on the occasion, Manish Agrawal, GM-IT, PNB, said the partnership marks a milestone in PNB’s IT transformation journey. “Leveraging C-DOT’s expertise, we will accelerate modernisation, enhance customer touchpoints, and deliver secure, seamless digital banking services across India.”

Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO, C-DOT, highlighted the partnership’s role in advancing financial inclusion. “Fostering collaboration with PNB is a crucial step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat by extending secure and digitally inclusive financial services to citizens.”

Over the past four decades, C-DOT has played a pivotal role in India’s telecom revolution, powering BharatNet, advancing 4G/5G solutions, cybersecurity, AI, IoT, and initiating exploratory research into 6G use cases.
