The arrested doctors belong to the 2021 batch and include Dr. Chandan Singh, Kumar Shanu, and Rahul Anand. The CBI has also sealed their rooms and confiscated their laptops and mobile phones.

CBI had arrested Pankaj Kumar from Patna for stealing NEET-UG paper

The CBI arrested Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya, a civil engineer from the 2017 batch of the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, on Tuesday in Patna. He is accused of stealing the NEET-UG question paper from the trunk of the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Hazaribagh.

According to officials, the CBI also arrested a person named Raju Singh, who allegedly assisted Kumar in stealing the paper. Raju Singh was arrested from Hazaribagh.

CBI has filed six FIRs in this case

The CBI has registered six FIRs related to alleged irregularities in medical entrance exams. These include concerns over leaked primary exam papers in Bihar while the remaining FIRs registered in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra are related to someone else appearing in the exam in place of the candidates and cheating.

The agency’s own FIR, based on the reference of the Union Education Ministry, is related to the ‘comprehensive investigation’ of alleged irregularities in NEET-UG 2024.
