New Delhi, June 22: As part of an investigation into illegal sand mining in Rajasthan, the CBI conducted raids at 10 places in the state.

According to officials, during its searches in Jaipur, Tonk, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Bhilwara, Karoli, and Sikar in Rajasthan, the agency reportedly confiscated over Rs 20 lakh in cash and a country-made pistol.

On the orders of the Jaipur Bench of the Rajasthan High Court, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) assumed responsibility for the investigation into the illegal sand mining case, which had been previously filed by the Bundi police.

The FIR alleges that on October 24 of the previous year, Sharukh was arrested for transporting 40 metric tonnes of minor mineral (sand) in a dumper truck bearing registration number RJ-08-GB-3162, without the necessary permit.
