Raipur, Nov 14: Union Minister Anurag Thakur responded to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s ‘washing powder’ statement on Prime Minister Modi by saying, “Now the lotus is ready to bloom in the mess spread by Congress.”
On Tuesday morning, Anurag Thakur arrived in Chhattisgarh to engage in campaigning for his political party as the state gears up for elections.
“Chhattisgarh is ready to defeat the corrupt Congressmen. Now Chhattisgarh is ready to wash all the people who have spent crores of rupees in the Mahadev App. The lotus is ready to bloom in the mess spread by Congress,” Anurag Thakur stated.
On Monday, Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh stated that the Prime Minister shouldn’t act “selectively” and advised that he take action against previous chief minister Raman Singh first.
In Durg, Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Baghel remarked on Monday, “PM Modi should take action against Raman Singh first. He should not take action selectively. He should take action against people like Himanta Biswa Sarma and Ajit Pawar, who have come out clean after being washed in ‘Modi washing powder’.”
Speaking at an election rally in Mungeli, Chhattisgarh, before the second phase of voting set for November 17, Prime Minister Modi expressed that the signal for the conclusion of Congress’ ineffective governance is resonating.
“The countdown to the Congress’ ‘bidai’ has begun now. The time has come for the farewell of those Congress leaders who have looted you for five years. The public of the state is more eager for the ‘bidai’ of Congress from the state. The public doesn’t want Congress anymore,” PM Modi stated.
The Prime Minister leveled allegations against the Congress, asserting their direct implication in the Mahadev betting app scandal.
“I have some questions for the Congress leaders who are fond of teaching mathematics…I want to ask some questions about the party. The ‘Mahadev betting app scam’ is worth Rs 508 crore and the investigating agencies have recovered loads of cash in this case. A close aide of the Chhattisgarh CM is also in jail. Congress should reveal how much money the CM received in this. How much money the other leaders of the party have received and how much money has reached Delhi” he stated.
Chhattisgarh is among the five states heading to the polls this month. The state is undergoing elections in two phases, with the first phase, covering 20 seats, concluding on November 7. The remaining 70 seats are scheduled for polling on November 17 and the vote-counting process will take place on December 3.
