Congress announces ‘Pyari Didi’ scheme for Delhi women

New Delhi, Jan 6: As Delhi’s assembly elections approach, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar unveiled the Congress’ initial guarantee for the city, the ‘Pyari Didi’ scheme, which will grant Rs 2,500 monthly to women.

At a joint press conference with Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced the launch of the ‘Pyari Didi’ scheme. He expressed confidence that Congress would form the government in Delhi and pledged to provide Rs 2,500 to women.

He also mentioned that the scheme would be implemented following a similar model to the one introduced in Karnataka, with the decision being made in the very first cabinet meeting.

Shivakumar emphasized that the Congress party has consistently fulfilled its promises. He stated that the party’s strength is closely tied to the nation’s strength and that Congress’ history is intertwined with the country’s history.

Devender Yadav, Delhi Congress president, highlighted that the party has successfully delivered on all its promises, which has led to growing public trust.

He pointed to states like Karnataka, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, where the party has honored its commitments, resulting in an increase in people’s faith in Congress.
