New Delhi, June 8: Sources revealed on Saturday that the Congress Working Committee (CWC) has adopted a resolution advocating for the appointment of party MP Rahul Gandhi as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
The extended Congress Working Committee convened in the New Delhi on Saturday, with attendees including Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Manish Tiwari, DK Shivakumar, and Revanth Reddy, and several others.

Rahul Gandhi emerged victorious in the Lok Sabha elections from Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, and Wayanad, Kerala.
After the CWC meeting, Congress MP Kumari Selja indicated that the committee’s preference was for Rahul Gandhi to assume the position of Leader of the Opposition.
Senior Congress leader and Alappuzha MP, KC Venugopal, stated that the CWC unanimously urged Rahul Gandhi to assume the role of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
The CWC resolution commended Rahul Gandhi for his contributions during the election campaign.
