Patna, Oct 18: The CPI(ML) Liberation, an alliance partner of the INDIA bloc in Bihar, on Saturday unveiled its list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The party, which had contested 19 seats and secured 12 victories in 2020, has decided to retain all its sitting MLAs as nominees this time as well.
CPI(ML) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said the party had initially sought 24 seats but settled for 20 in the interest of coalition unity. Expressing confidence in the alliance, he remarked, “The Mahagathbandhan will register a sweeping victory as people have grown weary of the NDA government.”

The list features a mix of experienced leaders and new entrants, with fresh faces contesting in constituencies that the party could not win in the previous polls. Among the prominent names are Dhananjay (Bhore), Amarjeet Kushwaha (Ziradei), Satyadeo Ram (Darauli) and Amarnath Yadav (Daraunda).

Other candidates include Ranjeet Kumar Ram from Kalyanpur, Phoolbabu Singh from Warisnagar, Bishwanath Chaudhry from Rajgir, Divya Gautam from Digha, Gopal Ravi Das from Phulwari, Sandeep Saurav from Paliganj, Quyamuddin Ansari from Ara, Shiv Prakash Ranjan from Agiain, Madan Singh from Tarari and Ajit Kumar Singh from Dumraon.
All nominees for constituencies voting in the first phase have already filed their nomination papers. Elections to the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be conducted in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
