Dhanbad, Feb 2: Unidentified bike-borne criminals hurled crude bombs at the residence of Jharia MLA Ragni Singh, popularly known as Singh Mansion, located at Steelgate under the Saraidhela police station area in Dhanbad late on Sunday night.
According to police officials, the incident took place at around 11.30 pm. Two crude bombs were thrown at the house. One bomb fell inside the campus, while the other hit the main gate. No injuries or major damage were reported, though signs of an explosion were clearly visible at the spot.
Attackers Flee After Bombing
Police said the attackers arrived on a bike and escaped at high speed after hurling the bombs. Singh Mansion is situated along NH-32 in the Steelgate area, making the incident a matter of serious concern.

After receiving information, City Superintendent of Police Ritvik Srivastava and Rural SP Kuldeep Choudhary rushed to the spot and started an investigation. Police are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the criminals.
City SP Ritvik Srivastava told media persons that efforts are underway to identify the attackers and that the case will be solved soon. Police are also probing the intention behind the crude bomb attack.
Sanjeev Singh Present at Residence
MLA Ragni Singh’s husband, Sanjeev Singh, a three-time former Jharia MLA, was present inside the house at the time of the incident. Due to heavy security already deployed at his residence, the criminals managed to flee before security personnel could respond.
Both city and rural SPs later took detailed information from Sanjeev Singh regarding the incident.
Political Angle Suspected
Supporters of Sanjeev Singh alleged that the attack was carried out to create panic, as the former MLA is expected to contest the upcoming Dhanbad mayoral election.
Following the incident, a heavy police force was deployed at Singh Mansion to prevent any further untoward incidents.
